Mr. Gorcyca was first elected to serve the citizens and crime victims of Oakland County as Oakland County Prosecutor in 1996. He was re-elected in 2000 and 2004 before retiring from the position in 2008 to enter private practice at FLCS. While Prosecutor, he led an office of more than 100 Assistant Prosecuting Attorneys and oversaw the prosecution of some of the most highly publicized criminal cases in the United States. Those cases included People v. Jack Kevorkian, the Palace Brawl cases, the Jenny Jones Show murder trial (People v. Jonathan Schmitz), and the Detroit Red Wings limousine incident (People v. Richard Gnida). Mr. Gorcyca joined FLCS in 2009.
